The Nursing Assistant Program prepares students for employment.


Nursing Assistant Training Program

Students gain an understanding of the responsibilities involved in working with residents/patients of all ages in both wellness and illness. Issues of mental health, resident patient rights, and resident patient and family interactions are also covered.


Class instruction includes the following:

  • Basic nursing assistant procedures and skills
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • General household activities
  • Patient care
  • Restorative services
  • Safety and emergency care

Program Outline 

Learning To Care Academy, LLC Nurse Assistant Training Program includes 100 hours of nurse assistant training (60 hours of classroom/lab training and 40 hours of hands-on clinical classes). Classroom instructions and labs are offered year-round during the evenings to best meet your needs. Clinical experience with residents/patients provided at skilled nursing facilities in and around Columbia, SC.

 

The Nurse Assistant Program prepares students for employment. Educational credit hours for the training program may not transfer to another institution.

 

Total Cost of Tuition (SC Certified Nurse Assistant Exam Included) - $1,500.00

Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Class Hours

Evening Class/Lab: (Week 1 - Week 5) Monday to Thursday: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Clinical Hours: (Week 6) Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM


Hours are subject to change.

Each class, lab, or clinical day, students are expected to bring their textbook, workbook, candidate handbook, pen/pencil, stethoscope, blood pressure equipment, and watch

Transfer Credit

Nurse assistant programs prepare graduates for employment; credit for this training may not transfer to another institution. No credit from the previous course(s) will be accepted for this program. Enrollment and completion in this program do not guarantee employment.
